TUTOR-ME · TutorMe Team / TUTOR-ME 350 Team

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 25 October 2026

Planned public launch: Friday, 30 October 2026

TUTOR-ME is an educational platform intended to help Nigerian secondary-school students and candidates prepare for BECE, WAEC, NECO and JAMB. This Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, shared, protected and retained when you use the platform.

Please take particular care when submitting personal information, photographs, screenshots or voice input to an AI feature.

1. Introduction and purpose of this Privacy Policy

TUTOR-ME respects the privacy of its users and recognises the importance of protecting personal information, particularly information relating to secondary-school students and examination candidates.

This Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal information that TUTOR-ME may collect or receive, why that information may be processed, the circumstances in which it may be shared, how it may be protected and retained, and the choices and rights available to users.

This Policy applies when you access or use the TUTOR-ME website, student account, dashboard, educational resources, computer-based tests, AI tutoring features, voice or image-based learning features, study-planning tools, progress features, support channels, and other services made available through TUTOR-ME.

Please read this Policy together with the TUTOR-ME Terms and Conditions and any separate privacy notice presented for a particular feature, integration, or transaction. A feature-specific notice may provide additional information about processing that feature requires.

2. Effective date, launch and scope

This Privacy Policy has an effective date of 25 October 2026. The currently planned public launch date of TUTOR-ME is Friday, 30 October 2026. A planned launch date does not guarantee that every feature will be available on that date.

The Policy applies to personal information processed by or on behalf of the TUTOR-ME operating team in connection with the services covered by this notice, subject to applicable law.

The exact information processed will depend on the features you use, the information you choose to provide, the authentication method available to you, and the technical configuration of the service at the relevant time.

3. Who operates TUTOR-ME

TUTOR-ME is operated by the TutorMe Team, also referred to as the TUTOR-ME 350 Team, led by Godspower Asanam.

These names identify the operating team. Their use does not, by itself, represent a claim that a particular incorporated company or other registered legal entity exists.

For purposes of this Policy, the operating team is responsible for the personal-data processing activities for which it determines the purposes and means, subject to the allocation of responsibilities required by applicable data-protection law.

The primary contact for privacy questions and general support is tutormesupport@gmail.com. Serious or unresolved matters may be escalated to asanamgodspower@gmail.com. The support telephone number is 09163115859.

TUTOR-ME does not use this Policy to claim that a particular individual has been formally appointed as a Data Protection Officer where that appointment has not been confirmed. Any applicable statutory designation or additional contact information should be communicated separately when required.

4. Our privacy principles

TUTOR-ME aims to process personal information fairly, lawfully and transparently; collect it for specified and legitimate purposes; limit collection to information reasonably needed for those purposes; take reasonable steps to maintain accuracy; avoid retaining information longer than necessary; and apply appropriate measures to protect it.

Personal information should not be used for a new, incompatible purpose without an appropriate lawful basis or other authorisation required by law.

TUTOR-ME aims to respect confidentiality and to restrict access to personal information to people, systems and service providers that need the information for an authorised purpose.

These principles are operational commitments, not a claim that security incidents, mistakes, unauthorised access or every instance of misuse can be eliminated completely.

5. Personal information you may provide

Account and profile information may include your name, email address, chosen display name, profile preferences, account identifiers, and other details you enter during registration or account use. If a feature requests a telephone number or other contact detail, that information may also be processed for the stated purpose.

Authentication information may include identifiers and account status received through the sign-in method you choose. If Google or another third-party authentication service is offered and you use it, the service may provide information needed to authenticate your account. TUTOR-ME does not need to receive your third-party account password to authenticate you through that provider.

You may provide information in support requests, feedback forms, reports of abuse, privacy requests, billing enquiries, or other communications. Such communications may contain personal information that you choose to include.

Please provide information that is accurate and reasonably necessary for the feature you are using. Do not submit false identity details or another person's private information without appropriate authority.

6. Educational records, study activity and performance information

To provide educational services, TUTOR-ME may process details such as your selected examination, subjects, academic goals, study preferences, study schedule, target score, practice-question responses, computer-based test attempts, answers, scores, completion records, topics practised and progress information.

Depending on the features actually available and enabled, the service may also process information used to provide study plans, identify topics for further practice, present progress summaries, or recommend learning activities.

Educational information is used to operate and support learning features, maintain relevant account history, help display progress, troubleshoot problems, and improve the educational experience where an appropriate lawful basis exists.

A practice score, estimated performance indicator, progress record, badge, rank or recommendation is not necessarily an official academic record and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed examination outcome.

7. Questions, prompts, images, audio and other submitted content

When you use a feature that accepts text, a question, a prompt, an image, a photograph of a question, a screenshot, voice input, an audio recording or another upload, TUTOR-ME may process that material to provide the requested feature.

Submitted material may contain personal information even when the feature is intended for an academic question. For example, a photograph may accidentally include a student's name, school details, another person's face or other information that is not needed to answer the question.

Do not upload passwords, payment-card credentials, government identification numbers, medical records, confidential school records, intimate images, or another person's private information unless a feature specifically requires the information and you have a lawful basis and appropriate authority to provide it.

Automated image recognition, transcription and interpretation may be inaccurate. Users should check the information extracted from an image or voice input before relying on the resulting explanation.

Where the service stores conversations, uploads, generated answers or related history, that information may remain available according to the feature's actual functionality, the applicable retention arrangements and any available deletion controls. This Policy does not promise a deletion control that the product does not actually provide.

8. Technical, device and security information

When you access an online service, technical information may be generated or received as part of delivering, maintaining and securing that service. Depending on the systems in use, this may include IP address, browser type, device or operating-system information, timestamps, request details, authentication events, error reports, and technical logs.

Such information may be used to diagnose errors, maintain service availability, investigate suspected misuse, protect accounts, detect unusual activity, prevent abuse and understand technical performance to the extent permitted by law.

The precise technical information collected depends on the hosting, authentication, security and other systems actually used by TUTOR-ME. This Policy does not claim that a specific analytics, advertising or tracking product is installed unless it is actually used.

Technical logs may incidentally contain personal information. Access to such records should be limited to legitimate operational, security, support or legal purposes.

9. Support communications and complaints

If you contact TUTOR-ME, the team may process your email address, message, relevant account details, the facts you provide, and the information needed to respond to your enquiry or investigate your report.

Support correspondence may be retained for a period reasonably necessary to resolve the issue, maintain an appropriate record, protect users, respond to further enquiries, establish or defend legal claims, or satisfy applicable legal obligations.

Where a report concerns bullying, impersonation, suspected unauthorised access, a safety issue or another user's conduct, information may be reviewed and shared internally or with an appropriate external authority where lawful and reasonably necessary to address the concern.

Do not include passwords, full payment-card numbers, authentication codes or unnecessary sensitive information in a support email.

10. Information relating to payments and subscriptions

If TUTOR-ME offers paid services, trials, subscriptions or other paid entitlements, relevant transaction information may be processed to confirm purchases, provide access, administer a subscription, address billing enquiries, prevent fraud or meet accounting and legal obligations.

Depending on the payment flow, information may include transaction reference, amount, currency, payment status, purchase date, subscription status and relevant billing correspondence.

An external payment provider may process payment credentials directly. TUTOR-ME does not claim to collect or store full payment-card information unless the actual payment implementation requires it and the appropriate arrangements are in place.

The existence of this section does not mean that a paid subscription is currently available. Prices, subscription periods, renewal arrangements, cancellations and refunds should be disclosed through the relevant offer or payment flow before a user commits to a purchase.

11. Where information comes from

TUTOR-ME may receive personal information directly from you, through your use of the platform, from the authentication or technical service needed to provide a feature, or from a parent, guardian, teacher, school or other authorised representative where applicable.

Information may also be generated when the service records a practice attempt, processes a question, produces a progress summary, receives a support request or detects a technical or security event.

Where personal information is received from another person or service, TUTOR-ME aims to use it only for an appropriate purpose and lawful basis and to provide any notice required by applicable law.

If you provide information about another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the authority or lawful basis required to do so.

12. Why we process personal information

TUTOR-ME may process personal information to create and maintain accounts; authenticate users; deliver learning resources; provide practice questions and computer-based tests; process AI tutoring requests; respond to text, image or voice questions; record learning activity; display progress; and support study-planning features.

Information may also be used to provide technical support, respond to privacy and safeguarding concerns, communicate essential service information, investigate suspected account misuse, protect service integrity, maintain records of transactions where applicable, and comply with legal obligations.

Where lawful and appropriate, information may be used to evaluate reliability, diagnose errors, understand feature usage and improve educational or technical functionality. Such processing should be proportionate to the stated purpose and should respect applicable privacy rights.

TUTOR-ME should not use personal information for a materially different purpose that is incompatible with the original purpose without an appropriate lawful basis, notice or consent where required.

13. Lawful bases for processing

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable laws may recognise different lawful bases for personal-data processing. The basis applicable to a particular activity depends on what is being done, why it is necessary, the relationship with the user and the circumstances of the processing.

Depending on the activity, TUTOR-ME may rely on steps requested by a user before entering a service arrangement, performance of an applicable agreement, consent, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests pursued where permitted by law and where those interests are not overridden by the user's applicable rights and interests.

A different lawful basis may apply where legally appropriate, such as protection of vital interests or the performance of a task carried out in the public interest where that basis is genuinely available and applicable. This statement does not assert that every lawful basis applies to every activity.

Where processing depends on consent, the user should be informed about the relevant purpose and may withdraw that consent, subject to applicable legal limitations. Withdrawal does not make processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal automatically unlawful.

If information is necessary to provide a requested account or feature, refusing to provide it may mean that the relevant service cannot be provided. TUTOR-ME should not require optional information without an appropriate purpose.

14. AI features and third-party AI providers

TUTOR-ME may use AI-assisted services to generate explanations, help solve educational questions, support tutoring, process text, interpret images, process voice input, or provide other learning-related features.

Depending on feature configuration and request routing, TUTOR-ME may use services or models associated with Gemini, NVIDIA, OpenRouter and DeepSeek. The provider or model used for a particular request may vary. OpenRouter may route a request to a model or provider available through its service.

When you submit content to an AI feature, the content needed to process the request may be transmitted to the relevant service provider. Depending on the feature and request, that content could include your prompt, question, relevant educational context, uploaded image, or voice input.

Only the information reasonably needed to process the requested feature should be sent where technically and operationally practicable. Users should avoid inserting identifying or sensitive information into an AI prompt when it is not needed to answer the question.

External AI providers operate under their own applicable terms, privacy documentation and technical arrangements. Their data-retention and model-improvement practices may differ. TUTOR-ME does not make a blanket promise that every external provider immediately deletes every request, never retains submitted information, or never uses information under its applicable service terms.

AI-generated responses may be wrong, incomplete, misleading or unsuitable for a particular examination. Users should verify important explanations against teachers, textbooks, official syllabuses and reliable sources.

15. When personal information may be shared

TUTOR-ME may share or permit access to personal information when reasonably necessary to provide the service, fulfil a requested feature, protect users, maintain security, respond to a valid legal obligation or otherwise carry out an activity described in this Policy on an appropriate lawful basis.

Relevant recipients may include technical hosting and infrastructure providers, database or storage services, authentication providers, email or support systems, security services, payment providers where payments are enabled, and AI providers involved in a requested feature.

A provider should receive only the information reasonably necessary for the service or task it performs, subject to the provider arrangement and applicable law. Where required, TUTOR-ME will take appropriate steps to establish responsibilities and safeguards with providers that process personal information on its behalf.

Information may be shared with a parent, guardian, school or teacher only where there is an appropriate authorisation, a legitimate educational or safeguarding purpose, or another lawful basis. This Policy does not give every parent, teacher or school unrestricted access to every student's private account or learning activity.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, a lawful order, regulatory process, or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights, or to address a serious safety or security concern where disclosure is lawful and reasonably necessary.

TUTOR-ME does not treat sharing with a service provider as a transfer of ownership of the information. A recipient's permitted use should be consistent with the purpose and applicable legal arrangements.

16. International processing and cross-border transfers

Some third-party services used to provide online infrastructure, authentication, AI processing, communications, storage or payment processing may operate outside Nigeria. As a result, personal information may be processed or accessed in another country depending on the service and configuration in use.

Where a cross-border transfer of personal information occurs, TUTOR-ME aims to comply with applicable Nigerian data-protection requirements, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any applicable rules concerning the level of protection, transfer conditions and appropriate safeguards.

The safeguards legally required for a transfer depend on the recipient, destination, nature of the information and applicable legal basis. TUTOR-ME does not claim that every destination has been declared adequate or that a specific transfer mechanism applies to every provider.

Users may contact tutormesupport@gmail.com to raise a question about international processing. Information about a particular provider or transfer may be supplied to the extent required by law and reasonably available.

17. Children, students and parental or guardian involvement

TUTOR-ME is designed primarily for Nigerian secondary-school students and candidates preparing for examinations including BECE, WAEC, NECO and JAMB. The platform recognises that some users are children and that their personal information deserves particular care.

Where applicable law requires parental or guardian consent, authorisation or another safeguard before processing a child's personal information, the required steps must be followed. The precise requirements depend on the user's circumstances, the nature and purpose of processing, and applicable law.

Parents and guardians should help younger students use the platform safely, choose appropriate profile information, avoid unnecessary disclosure in AI prompts, and understand the distinction between private learning information and information deliberately shown in a shared feature.

Where a parent, guardian, teacher or school creates, manages or supports a student's account, that person must have the authority required to provide the relevant information and must use the information only for authorised purposes.

TUTOR-ME does not intend to collect more personal information from children than is reasonably necessary for the relevant educational or operational purpose. Users should report suspected misuse of a student's information through tutormesupport@gmail.com.

No policy can guarantee absolute protection from every online risk. Parents and guardians should supervise age-appropriate use and report serious safety concerns promptly.

18. Private student information, leaderboards and public displays

TUTOR-ME intends to keep private account information and private learning activity from being generally accessible to other students. The fact that a student uses the platform does not itself authorise disclosure of that student's email address, authentication details or private study records to other users.

If a leaderboard, ranking, shared achievement or comparable feature is available, it may display information such as a selected display name, score, rank or achievement according to the actual design of that feature.

Users should not place their full name, phone number, school address, password, or other sensitive information in a public-facing display name or in content intended to be shared with other users.

TUTOR-ME does not promise an opt-out control, anonymous mode or particular leaderboard privacy setting unless that feature is actually provided. Users should review the controls and notices available in the relevant feature.

A shared score or display name should not be interpreted as permission to disclose the student's underlying account credentials, contact details or unrelated private information.

19. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

Web applications may use browser storage, cookies or similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember settings, support authentication, secure the service, retain necessary preferences or make a requested feature work.

The technologies used depend on the website's actual implementation. This Policy does not assert that TUTOR-ME uses a specific advertising cookie, third-party analytics service or tracking technology unless that technology is in fact configured.

Where optional cookies or similar technologies that require consent are used, TUTOR-ME should provide the notice and choices required by applicable law. Browser settings may allow users to manage or remove some stored data, although disabling necessary storage can prevent login or other features from working correctly.

Technical storage that is necessary to provide a feature may operate differently from optional analytics or advertising technologies. The applicable purpose, legal basis and choices depend on the technology actually used.

20. Retention and deletion of personal information

TUTOR-ME aims to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal requirements and other lawful retention needs.

Retention periods may differ between account and profile information, learning records, submitted questions, AI interactions, support correspondence, technical and security logs, transaction records, and information that must be retained to establish or defend a legal claim.

Information may need to be retained for a reasonable period to resolve an issue, investigate suspected abuse, maintain service security, fulfil an applicable legal obligation, administer a transaction, or protect legal rights. When information is no longer necessary, TUTOR-ME aims to delete it, anonymise it or otherwise dispose of it appropriately where practicable and lawful.

Deleting an account or requesting deletion may not immediately remove every copy from backups, logs, external provider systems or records that must lawfully be retained. Such information remains subject to the applicable retention arrangements and legal obligations.

The actual retention period may depend on technical constraints and service-provider arrangements. TUTOR-ME does not promise a fixed number of days for every category unless a particular retention period has been expressly adopted and communicated.

21. Security measures and confidentiality

TUTOR-ME aims to apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the personal information and the risks of the processing. The measures used may include access controls, authentication, restricted administrative access, secure transmission, system maintenance, monitoring, provider safeguards and procedures for investigating suspected misuse, as appropriate to the system.

Access to personal information should be limited to people and service providers who need it for an authorised purpose and should be subject to appropriate confidentiality and security responsibilities.

No system, internet transmission, device, provider or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. TUTOR-ME cannot promise that unauthorised access, loss, accidental disclosure or every security incident will never occur.

Users should protect their passwords, avoid sharing authentication codes, sign out of shared devices where appropriate, keep their devices reasonably secure, and report suspected account compromise promptly.

Do not attempt to access another user's data, bypass security controls, exploit a weakness, or use information obtained through an unauthorised method.

22. Personal-data breach and incident response

If TUTOR-ME becomes aware of a suspected security incident involving personal information, the team aims to assess the incident, take appropriate containment or remediation steps, and investigate its likely scope and effect.

Where a personal-data breach triggers a legal notification or communication requirement, TUTOR-ME will handle required notifications in accordance with applicable law, including any applicable requirements concerning the relevant supervisory authority and affected individuals.

The timing, recipients and content of a required notification depend on the facts of the incident and the applicable legal requirements. This Policy does not promise that every technical error will constitute a reportable personal-data breach or that all incidents will have the same notification outcome.

Users who suspect that their account or personal information has been exposed should contact tutormesupport@gmail.com promptly and provide relevant details without sending passwords or full payment-card credentials.

23. Your rights concerning personal information

Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable law, you may have rights concerning the personal information TUTOR-ME processes about you. The scope of a right and any applicable exception depend on the circumstances and the law.

These rights may include the right to be informed about processing; request access to personal information; seek correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; request erasure in circumstances permitted by law; request restriction of processing; object to certain processing; request data portability where applicable; and withdraw consent when processing relies on consent.

You may also have rights concerning decisions based solely on automated processing where the relevant statutory conditions apply, including safeguards or human intervention as provided by applicable law.

The right to request deletion is not absolute. TUTOR-ME may need to retain some information where required or permitted by law, including for legal obligations, security, legitimate claims or other recognised exceptions. If a request cannot be fully granted, the response should explain the applicable reason to the extent required by law.

You may object to processing or withdraw consent where the law provides that right. Withdrawal or objection does not necessarily require removal of information that TUTOR-ME must lawfully retain or stop every processing activity supported by a separate lawful basis.

The rights available and the procedure for exercising them are subject to applicable verification, deadlines, restrictions and exceptions. This Policy is not intended to remove any mandatory right under Nigerian law.

24. How to make a privacy request

To ask a question about your personal information or exercise an applicable privacy right, email tutormesupport@gmail.com. Include a clear description of the request and enough information for the team to identify the relevant account or processing activity.

For a serious unresolved privacy matter, you may escalate the issue to asanamgodspower@gmail.com. The support telephone number is 09163115859.

TUTOR-ME may ask for proportionate additional information to verify identity or authority before providing personal information, correcting an account, deleting data or acting on a request. Such verification should be relevant and should avoid collecting unnecessary additional sensitive information.

A parent or guardian making a request on behalf of a child may be asked to provide reasonable evidence of their authority where necessary and lawful. Information revealing another person's data may need to be protected before a response can be provided.

TUTOR-ME aims to respond to valid requests within the period required by applicable law. If a request is unclear, unusually broad, legally restricted or cannot be completed as requested, the team may seek clarification or explain any applicable lawful limitation.

Do not send your password, one-time authentication code, or full payment-card number in a privacy request.

25. Complaints and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission

If you believe that TUTOR-ME has handled your personal information improperly, you may contact tutormesupport@gmail.com to raise the concern. Serious matters that remain unresolved may be escalated to asanamgodspower@gmail.com.

You may also have the right to submit a complaint to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory or regulatory authority, subject to the relevant procedures and applicable law.

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission provides information about data-protection rights and its official services at the Commission's official website. Its current contact and complaint procedures should be checked through its official channels.

Contacting TUTOR-ME first is encouraged where appropriate, but nothing in this Policy is intended to prevent you from exercising a right to approach a competent regulator, court or other lawful authority.

26. Third-party websites and external privacy policies

TUTOR-ME may contain links to external websites, video platforms, educational content, authentication services, payment providers or other third-party services.

A third-party website or service may collect information under its own privacy policy and terms. This TUTOR-ME Privacy Policy does not automatically govern the independent processing carried out by an external service that TUTOR-ME does not control.

Before providing information directly to an external website or service, you should review its privacy notice and consider whether you wish to use it.

A link, integration, source attribution or reference to an external provider does not automatically indicate that the provider endorses TUTOR-ME or that TUTOR-ME owns the provider's content.

27. Selling personal information and unrelated use

TUTOR-ME does not intend to sell students' personal information as a commercial product. This statement does not prohibit the limited sharing with processors and service providers, or disclosures required or permitted by law, described elsewhere in this Policy.

Personal information should not be disclosed to another student merely because the student uses the same learning platform. Information displayed through an available leaderboard or other shared feature should be limited to the information that the feature is designed and authorised to show.

TUTOR-ME aims not to use personal information for purposes unrelated to providing, securing, supporting or lawfully improving the service without an appropriate lawful basis and any notice or consent required by law.

If TUTOR-ME introduces a materially different use of personal information, the Policy and any required disclosures or consent mechanisms should be updated before that use begins where required by law.

28. Changes to this Privacy Policy

TUTOR-ME may update this Policy to reflect changes to the service, features, technical providers, data-processing practices, security requirements or applicable law.

The effective date at the beginning of this Policy identifies the date of the current version. Where a change is material, TUTOR-ME aims to provide notice through an appropriate platform notice or other reasonable communication method where practicable and required by law.

If applicable law requires fresh consent for a new processing activity, the necessary consent must be obtained before that activity begins. Continued use of the service does not replace consent where the law requires a separate affirmative action.

Users should review this Policy periodically, especially when using a new feature that requests images, voice input, AI prompts, payment information or other personal information.

29. Contact information and final provisions

For privacy questions, personal-data requests, correction or deletion enquiries, concerns about AI processing, or reports of suspected misuse, contact the TUTOR-ME team using the contact details below.

This Policy is intended to be read consistently with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, including applicable requirements governing lawful processing, transparency, security, data-subject rights and cross-border transfers, and with other applicable Nigerian laws.

If a provision of this Policy is found inconsistent with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, that requirement prevails to the extent of the inconsistency. Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove a privacy right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.

TUTOR-ME aims to maintain a respectful educational environment and to handle student information responsibly. Users, parents and guardians are encouraged to read this Policy together with the Terms and Conditions and the notices presented for the specific features they choose to use.
